CHARITYCHARITYKyalami Kart Circuit have held karting days for the Arum Lily Trust in 2006 and 2007. PLEASE support these guys as they are doing an awesome job on funds that are almost totally raised by themselves. Our karting days have been very successful and we hope to do many more!!!
Dear Grant , The Arum Lily Trust is a registered NPO. We are in the process of registering with the Dept of Social Development as a children’s home. We act as a private place of safety. The trust is registered as a supplier to the Dept of Justice. We work closely and daily with the SAPS, Dept of social services and various welfare organisations. We receive a minimal place of safety grant from them which is about R2000 per month. We have 22 children at this stage which works out about R90.00 a month per child which doesn’t go very far. The reality is that a home like this needs funds and accounts to operate. Pick n Pay supplies our vegetables. Dr Jaco Jurgens & Dr J Botha give the children free medical attention. The schools don’t charge fees and supply all of the children with free second hand clothes. Bond stationers supply all of their school requirements. The children we receive are usually the worst cases of child abuse as I am probably the only children’s home in the country to have its own specialized play therapy centre. We take in children of all race. We don’t however take in HIV children as we aren’t equipped to deal with their needs. My goal is uplift these kids and to give all of them a better chance in life and it is working out well for them. Our youngest at the moment is 2 years old. We receive no funding from government whatsoever. We receive absolute no remuneration whatsoever for our effort nor do we ever wish to receive anything. We support the home with funds from private companies and individuals who donate if they can and the bulk of the money comes from my own companies. Our staff is very well trained. They are all qualified in First Aid and professional parenting. The kids are really a great bunch who have been very badly wounded by their parents. I and a group of private businessman assist the police and welfare organisation in obtaining favourable convictions against these people.
